Our Team
Ben Hart
I am an archaeologist who prefers the weight of a field notebook to the ease of a digital spreadsheet. My interest lies in the "wonderful things"—the understated, visceral excitement of discovery that defines the best of the British archaeological tradition.
My time has been spent between the research libraries of Nottingham and the trenches of Chester, excavating everything from the footprints of Civil War battlefields to the quiet remains of Roman villas. I founded Antique Land Journal to return to this sense of discovery, advocating for a discipline that prizes the integrity of the record over the speed of the schedule.
This is a journal for those who believe that the grit of the earth and the depth of the library are where the past truly comes back to life.
Emma Kennedy
Growing up in rural Ireland, I was surrounded by landscapes steeped in legend and alive with myths and stories of laochra. This bred an early fascination that shaped my love of adventure and storytelling. As someone with a degree in sports, Antique Land is a space where I can share my fervour for wandering and discovery. From cosy shebeens nestled in undiscovered nooks to cities bustling with life, travel is more than exploration - it is a way to connect the stories that shape us. "Find ecstasy in life; the mere sense of living is joy enough".
